And nice to meet you!
I’m Jess, the woman behind the one-woman show that is Canopy Content Creation.
I work with companies that care about their impact, turning big, bold ideas into words that work for them.
I’ve been a creative copywriter for eight years and a qualified translator for five, taking Dutch and German texts and turning them into beautifully blooming English copy.
My roots…
I’ve always loved words. Writing has always been my hobby (and I still have the notebooks from my holidays, crammed with hand-written stories, to prove it). I also always wanted to turn it into my career. There was the fashion journalist phase, the editor-in-chief phase, I wanted to be a novelist, poet, journalist… What do all those things have in common? They all tell stories. And that’s exactly where I found my niche, telling stories for brands.
I studied German and Dutch at university. After graduating, I worked for various companies (some fabulous, some less so) until I eventually decided to unite my love for storytelling with my love for speaking foreign languages.
So, after much umming and ahing, I went back to university and took a Masters in Translation & Interpreting Studies. I was hooked. It didn’t take long out there in the real world, armed with my degree, to realise I was born to work for myself.
And here I am.

In 2018, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a First Class Masters in Translation and Interpreting Studies.
