World Refill Day
! Happy #WorldRefillDay !
Are you ready to #StepUpForReuse ? In your business, your home and your everyday life?
This Sunday – 16th June – is #WorldRefillDay and it's a big deal!
We all know by now that our endless stream of single-use items (plastic and more) is drowning our planet and our green and blue spaces. And we all know we should probably do something about that... We've got to #StepUpForReuse and get tough on the producers of single-use plastics in particular, as well as those in charge of legislating on it – because they can all do a lot better. (For more info, read up on Extended Producer Responsibility)
Refill.org run by City to Sea has some great resources both for individuals and for companies and businesses, ranging from ways to advocate, to concrete ways to change and ways to ask your politicians to make change for you.
The City to Sea website is also packed with sustainability tips and resources at all scales, as well as ideas for community action and tonnes of active campaigns that are actually getting sh*t done and helping lobby for better refill infrastructure.
How can you help/how am I helping?
Using a reusable water bottle, with the refill app, of course.
Bringing my own bags to the supermarket (no-brainer)
Taking reusable coffee/tea cups everywhere
Bringing my own cutlery (even if I'm planning on buying non-reusable to-go food)
Buying refills for my household cleaning items, washing up liquid and detergent
And choosing packaging-less shops where physically and financially possible
You can also shout about #Refills at every opportunity, get involved in campaigns, talk to local businesses and politicians and generally make sure that re-use and re-fill is on the table for discussion at every possible opportunity.
Want to talk to others who care about the environment with content that really speaks to them? Want content that reflects your business sustainability goals and communicates them accurately? Get in touch! I can definitely help with that.
